From pony’s and trains, there were lots of things to ride in the mid 90’s. We’re heading back to the Billboard charts, this time for the week of October 10, 1996. Rob and Dave will rank their top favorite songs from the charts, developing a hype playlist from 1996. As usual, they’ll agree and disagree on the songs, but all in good fun and great nostalgia. The mid 90’s provided a slight shift from the early 90’s grunge to some more hip hop, R&B and radio pop rock. So strap in as we look at songs from artists like Alanis Morissette, Celine Dion and Tupac Shakur back in 1996.

The 1990’s were an epic time for music. In the early 90’s hip hop was starting to take hold and glam metal was starting to fall off. But through all that there was a lot of room for tons of great pop, rock and R&B music on MTV and radio’s top 40. However, as great as the 90’s were for music, it also turned out some less than stellar options. On this episode, David and Rob will countdown the songs they thought were the worst from 1990-1992 making what could be called a best of the worst playlist. All these songs may not rate as terrible to you, but for the hosts these are the worst these 3 years have to offer. So grab your headphones, and try not to cringe too much as we will list our picks for the worst songs of 1990-1992.

School’s out for summer! Have any greater words ever been uttered when you're a kid still in school. Alice Cooper hit it square on the head, so on this episode, Rob, Kurt and David are taking a trip back to relive the iconic 1993 movie, based in 1976, Dazed and Confused. We’ll discuss the cars, the music, the hazing and some of the weirder stuff as we break down every aspect of this coming of age film. The gang will have some fun filling in our movie categories and hopefully not saying too many inappropriate things. So grab a paddle, rev up that car's engine and let’s be a lot cooler than we are by heading back to The Emporium to check out 1993’s Dazed and Confused.

The 1980’s and early 1990’s were a time of big hair, spandex, groupies and rocking out on the Sunset Strip. We’re talking Hair or Glam metal on this episode. Rob and David will select some of their favorite songs that show what hair metal had to offer the world. However, we’re going strictly rock songs for this playlist, so no ballads or dedications of undying love will be heard. So let’s grab some Jack Daniels, act inappropriately on a tour bus, light a hotel room on fire and have way too much fun at our concerts, all while our hair stays perfectly in place as we countdown our favorite hair/glam metal songs.

The 1980’s certainly was a decade of change and new sensations in the US and in fact the whole world. This was never more apparent than in the styles of music throughout the decade. From new wave to pop, glam metal and R&B/Hip Hop the 80’s provided a literal buffet of choices for listeners. Within these styles of music were also some interesting, funny and sometimes downright odd songs that became major hits and also helped define music for the decade. On this episode, Rob and David will look back at our favorite songs that maybe were a little different from the norm on MTV and top 40 radio. So grab a whip and your science book as we head back to check out some funny and interesting songs from the 1980’s.

What would the early 90’s have been without the coolest teens on Saturday morning cruising the halls of Bayside High. Zack, Slater, Kelly, Jesse, Lisa, Screech and Mr. Belding taught us young teens what it was like to be cool in High School. From the Max, to the Malibu Sands, to Palm Springs and beating Valley in sports, Bayside High School was the place to be. In this episode, Dave, Rob and Kurt will take a look back at the highs and lows that the gang experienced during their High School years. So pop some caffeine pills, strap on a buddy band and don’t forget that we’ll always be friends forever with the cast of Saved By The Bell.

What is a one hit wonder? Webster defines it as a musical artist who is successful with one hit song, but without a comparable subsequent hit. Well in the 90’s, lots of artists flashed on the screen with a ton of these types of hits, whether good or bad their one hit, sometimes puts them in the musical history books. So on this episode, Rob and Dave will dive into the one hit wonder catalog and see if they can put together a great playlist that personifies the one hit phenomenon, with some differing opinions to be sure. It will be a ton of fun, and with so many choices will be a Volume 1 in this category. From Chumbawumba to Crash Test Dummies, we’ll rock out to the best One Hit Wonders of the 1990’s.

With a new President in office and America being Sleepless in Seattle, 1993 was an exciting year. Even more exciting was the music hitting the airwaves during that year. From Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men, Ace of Base and Soul Asylum, there was a wide range of great songs and albums to choose from. On this episode, Dave and Rob will go all the way back to this week in 1993 to look at the Billboard Hot 100 songs in America. They’ll choose the best songs of the 100 available, probably agreeing and disagreeing along the way, but having a great time. So hike up those Dazzy Dukes and Shake that Rump as we Inform you on the best songs of the US Hot 100 in August of 1993.
